How much does parquet renovation cost per m² and what is included in the price. We have broken down the individual steps, sanding, filling and varnishing, as well as the factors that ultimately influence the final cost the most.
Parquet renovation is not a single task but a sequence of three consecutive steps. First, the floor is sanded to remove old varnish, scratches and unevenness down to the bare wood. Next comes filling, where gaps between strips or boards are filled and minor cracks repaired. Finally, the floor is treated with varnish or oil, which protects it and gives it its final appearance. When "parquet renovation" is mentioned, it usually refers precisely to this complete trio, not just sanding alone.
The price therefore varies depending on exactly what the customer requests, sanding only, sanding with varnish, or the complete package including filling. All individual options are listed separately in the price list below.
Parquet renovation" and "parquet sanding" are often used interchangeably in everyday speech, even though they are not the same thing. Sanding is just the first step. It can be requested separately if you only want to remove the old varnish and leave the surface finish for later, or do it yourself. Renovation is a broader term covering the entire process including filling and the final varnish or oil. When someone looks for parquet renovation, they usually mean this complete result: a floor that looks like new.
Indicative prices per m² in Praha depend on the scope of work. The individual steps of renovation are as follows:
| Work | Price from |
|---|---|
| Sanding parquet floors | 220 Kč/m² |
| Filling of joints and cracks | 80 Kč/m² |
| Varnishing or oiling | 230 Kč/m² |
| Complete renovation (package) | 420 Kč/m² |
A complete renovation package is cheaper than the sum of individual items because sanding, filling and varnishing are carried out in a single schedule without unnecessary travel or additional preparation. For a 3+kk apartment with a floor area of 70-80 m² in good condition, a complete renovation will cost approximately 29 000 - 40 000 Kč. Staircase renovation is calculated separately, starting from 520 Kč per step.
The entire process has four phases:
